Barnsley Business Awards (2008) - Innovation Award - Highly Commended
"In today's fast moving environment where the housing market is changing rapidly, people need to have furniture which is made and designed for how they live. A design that comes from understanding their needs is a very important factor, which few products and furniture offer at the moment.
Flipt Concept has experience in the housing market, giving them the confidence in delivering what the buyer needs, and also looks closely at products close to home using locally sourced materials - ensuring the company supports Barnsley's economy.
Most designer's 'designer items' look aesthetically pleasing - using the latest colours and patterns. But these don't take into account that housing is getting smaller, nor do they take into account that most new housing contains three flights of stairs or a lift to get your furniture into the desired room. This continually means that there are hundreds of items on the market which all look very similar and do very little to aid our living styles. Flipt Concept is about giving the buyer choice, which they normally wouldn't get from the market. This refers to usability - how a piece can be used to suit peoples living patterns."
